Any van owner that has found themselves a victim of theft will likely feel many emotions – anger, frustration and fear. They may also feel helpless and unsure of their next move. That’s why we wholeheartedly believe Tell TVL can make a real difference, bringing victims and the wider van community together to fight crime through collaboration!
However, our efforts can only be successful with the help of honest tradespeople and key sector stakeholders. In that vein, we’re proud to announce that Tell TVL has now received official police backing courtesy of Secured by Design’s (SBD’s) Police Preferred Specification (PPS) accreditation scheme.
Laura Moran, Managing Director of TVL Group, says: “We started Tell TVL to bring together van owners, companies and police forces across the UK to collaboratively reduce van and tool theft. Receiving PPS accreditation is just the latest example of how strong a community we’re building.
“Though we’re not naive enough to believe that the fight is anywhere near over, it is only through working together that we stand a chance of eliminating theft in our sector. We hope that the police’s backing will underline the strength Tell TVL brings to the table.”
SBD is owned by the UK Police Service and works to reduce crime by validating the effectiveness of relevant security products and services.
To obtain PPS accreditation, submitted products or services must show that they are capable of deterring or preventing crime. The PPS initiative is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK.
